Final Prediction
I have used this blog to track the trend of gray through the Fall 2013 season. I particularly noticed that gray in sweaters became quite popular in retail and online, therefore, I focused on the garment of sweaters in regards to gray. I believe that gray will continue to be seen in the years to come, but in different amounts of occurrence. For example, it is predicted to be a color for Spring as a light gray, however, I do not think it will be as dominant of a color as it was for Fall 2013. I also have seen it slowly leak into winter outerwear, which makes a significant appearance in winter.
The Pantone color, Turbulence, was the gray shown above for the Fall 2013 season. This shade of gray did appear quite a lot in Harper's Bazaar, designer collections, and retailers; but it was not the only shade. I also found many light shades of gray to be popular, especially in the form of sweaters. Colors such as Emerald, Mykonos Blue, Linden Green, and Acai could also be seen paired with gray. This goes to show how gray is a neutral and I believe it will continue to be a neutral in seasons to come.
As for consumer acceptance, I believe that gray will be widely accepted because it is a neutral. I do think that gray sweaters are the most common in retail stores currently and I do not think that 'head to toe' gray will be easily accepted by the mass market.
